The new sports center, on the Edmond Safra Campus, offers you to enjoy university-level fitness at the best location in the city!\u00a0<\/h2>\n

The center is the most advanced in Israel, and is spread out across 42,000 square feet (just over 10 acres).<\/strong><\/p>\n

The sport center offers you to enjoy the new and advanced fitness complex, the highest quality of its kind in Israel, which includes: 70 fitness machines of the highest quality in the world\u2014produced by Technogym, and positioned in 4 activity areas\u2014 which exhibit a breakthrough in fitness thinking; and a renovated, covered and heated swimming pool, the largest in the city.<\/p>\n

In addition, the sport center also offers tennis courts, squash courts, and an athletics stadium of the highest quality of their kind in the world. At the sport center, there is also a studio for classes in movement and sports (at an additional cost) that offers the richest and highest quality range of classes in the city (over 200 classes a month) under the guidance of the best instructors and in designer studios.
\nLikewise, you can enjoy “Haivrit”, one of the most successful dairy restaurants in the city.
\nAt the service of visitors, there is a huge parking lot adjacent to the sport center.<\/p>\n

Membership includes use of the fitness complex, swimming pool, tennis club, and athletics stadium in accordance with the center\u2019s regulations.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since the 1950s, various sports programs have been run in rented facilities like the sports and physical education facilities of the Jerusalem YMCA, the Gymnasia Rehavia, and the Music Academy.
\nIn 1958, the National and University Stadium, which was the first sports facility at the service of the University on the Givat Ram campus, was inaugurated in celebration of a decade for the country. Added to this facility were: the gym (1964), the swimming pool and squash courts (1968), and five tennis courts (1958-1968).
\nCounted among the major sports enterprises that have taken place at the sport center is the Magnus Race (since 1951)\u2014 at first in the Jerusalem streets, afterwards around the Givat Ram campus, and to date, it is one of the most established races in Israel.<\/p>\n

Likewise, yearly “Sports Day” events have taken place within the framework of Student Day, including professors\u2019 races, and similarly, yearly, traditional sports meetings among The Hebrew University, the Technion in Haifa, and the Midrasha for Physical Education in Tel Aviv (which was later The Zinman College for Physical Education and Sport Sciences at the Wingate Institute).
\nhighest achievements
\nAt the sport center, a base for establishing university sports teams was built, which operated as ASA Jerusalem teams. The first team was ASA Jerusalem Men\u2019s Basketball, after which sports team in various branches were established (up to 35 teams on average per year) for men and women. The team that has reached the has been the ASA Jerusalem Women\u2019s Team, which Participates in the National Women\u2019s League. Likewise, student fencing teams have achieved substantial accomplishments in Israel, as well as abroad.
\nOver the years, additional yearly traditional sports enterprises have taken place such as the ASA International project in memory of Aryeh Cohen (Arinka); a basketball tournament in memory of Bezonsky; a tennis tournament in memory of soyca; the Braley project in squash; Amir and Payne projects in swimming; and in addition, a race in memory of Walter Frankel, which together with the Magnus Race take place every year as \u201cThe Hebrew University Races.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
